Kolektiva II

The admin of queer.group (a TBS source instance), makes a fediblock post reporting woem.men, because the woem.men admin had reacted "omfg" to a change in Eris' profile.

As of February 15th, woem.men is listed on TBS with the explanation "Admin is an Eris apologizer and anti-TBS."

See "Eris Says 'Based'" and "WelshPixie vs Firefish".

In the aftermath of this, on February 22, Ro suspends and reccomends a fediblock for Kolektiva. This is the second time Ro has reccomended a fediblock for Kolektiva.

See "Weirder Earth defederates Kolektiva".

The woen.men admin makes a post, informing her community about the action taken by TBS against both woem.men and Kolektiva, and discouraging explanatory responses to TBS-affiliated posts. The next day, a non-admin moderator of solarpunk.moe (also a TBS source instance), makes a second fediblock post reporting woem.men.

On February 23, the queer.group admin boosted a post critical of an "endless array of non-descript anime catgirls on top of trans flags".

Art Attack!

Artisan.chat hosted a "Fediblock, deduped" account, that provided the service of consisely summarizing posts on the Fediblock tag. On September 16, this account reported on credible accusations of report spamming and queerphobia by Mastodon.art moderators.

In retaliation, Mastodon.art limited artisan.chat and made unsubstantiated claims of antisemitism against the artisan.chat admin. As of September 25, artisan.chat is listed on TBS for "centrism harmful to marginalized communities."

Until this point, artisan.chat had been a member in good standing with WelshPixie's "fedimins" group. The instance had been a trusted source for both TBS and Oliphant, and had participated in the defederation of Firefish.social

See "WelshPixie vs Firefish".

TBS Updates Their Blocklist Sources

TBS updates their Blocklist sources to include a new set of sources. As a result, many new instances are suddenly listed on TBS, including tech.lgbt and many other trans/queer/furry communities. Each of these new listings was automatically tagged for "poor moderation" and "hate speech", with no evidence or apparent justification.

Oh September 22, Ro compared tech.lgbt (a mostly queer instance) to Kiwifarms (a site for organizing anti-LGBT stalking and harassment).

The Collapse of Oliphant

Oliphant, a small instance associated with the Oliphant blocklists, asks @AnarchoNinaWrites to delete several posts, based on unsubstantiated claims of antisemitism.

Nina migrates her account to Jorts.horse. WelshPixie writes a blog post. Mastodon.art moderator @ljwrites makes a post clearly comparing the phrase "protect trans women" to the neo-Nazi "Fourteen Words" slogan.

See "Horse Got Jorts".

WelshPixie vs Firefish

On the Mastodon.art official blog, WelshPixie announces that the instance is defederating from stop.voring.me (a furry instance with a trans-masculine admin, Kainoa) and firefish.social (the Firefish flagship instance with the same admin), because Kainoa had boosted something from Eris.

Subsequently, Kainoa posted screenshots that seem to show WelshPixie calling him "eris cocksucker".

Discourse ensued.

See "Eris Says 'Based'".

Horse Got Jorts

Queer furry instance furry.lgbt is accused of racism for announcing a website originally called "fediblock.directory", without asking the consent of the first person to use the hashtag.

Users from several instances posted protests of the apparent targetting of queer instances on the fediblock tag, and each of those instances is also reccomended for fediblock. The largest of these was Jorts.horse.

Weirder Earth defederates Kolektiva

On December 15th, Ro defederates from Kolektiva because a user named "Anna" (admin of witches.live) had an alt account on the instance.

A few days later, citing Ro's fediblock post and Eris's comments about Ubuntu Buzz, Weirder Earth defederates from Kolektiva.

See "Eris Says 'Based'".

Elon Musk Buys Twitter

Elon Musk buying Twitter leads to a large influx of new users to Mastodon and the fediverse more broadly.

This influx of new users highlighted multiple ongoing conflicts between competing views of privacy, safety, and anti-oppressive moderation.

Eris Says "Based"

Eris Disqordia calls something "based" in response to a thread about why you shouldn't say the word "based". A month later, rage.love user Puf writes a post on fediblock, reccomending Disqordia for defederation for use of the word "based" as well as confusion beween an instance named Ubuntu.buzz and the blog "Ubuntu Buzz".

Subsequently, several queer and lefty instances have been defederated for interacting with Eris.
